Team 2: A Dinner Party Dispute

Description

One evening in Old Town, Meila, a local midwife, decides to host a dinner party and invites five of her closest friends in the neighbourhood; a local social worker, an early childhood educator who works at the elementary school, a public health nurse, an ER nurse and a sociologist. Guests are having a fabulous time discussing their summer plans and what they have been up to. As conversation lulls, Claire, an ER nurse in the community brings up the recent headlines in the news regarding a proposed plan for a safe injection site beside a local elementary school in the community of New Town. What begins as a healthy debate between guests, starts to escalate due to poor listening and communication and the refusal to set aside biases and assumptions. The host of the party, Meila, who has remained neutral throughout the conflict begins facilitating the process of transformative mediation. Can this dinner party be saved? Watch to find out!
