BBQ Fundraiser: Clash of Visions - Group 6

Description

In an interdisciplinary team, there are bound to be conflicts due to different experiences and backgrounds. Gurleen and Derek both use the competing method because they’re both passionate about their values. Also, Gurleen gets anxious about the time because in her discipline she is used to working in a fast-paced financial corporate environment. She is used to making quick efficient decisions in short meetings. Because of Derek’s background in nursing, he is passionate about his idea. He tries to fight for it which might result in him being inconsiderate of other people Kim works as a mediator, but struggles with leadership qualities because she feels disrespected by Derek’s biased behavior and the cultural differences between Mehvish and herself.Mehvish uses the avoidant method because of her cultural background and because as a co-op student who is graduating soon, she won’t be around to see the funds be used. Mariam uses the problem solving method because women tend to use the problem solving approach as a style of handling conflict. Due to the nature of her discipline and school focus in nutrition and food, Mariam’s focus is more aimed towards allocating funds to health and wellness improvements such as the TMU garden or fitness facilities.
