Addressing Food Security in Calgary

Description

This is the first meeting of a focus group that has been convened to address food security issues in Downtown East Village, Calgary. The meeting is taking place at the Calgary Drop-in & Rehab Centre which is located in the East Village. The Drop-in Centre is an important location as some of the focus group members have had to use their services in the past or continue to use their services to date. Focus group members were solicited either through the Drop-in Centre itself, or through advertisements in local supermarkets, Laundromats, and community centers. A free meal and a weekly healthy food basket for one month are being offered to those who participate.
