Team 5: Parkdale Community Recreational Centre

Board members of the Parkdale Community Centre's recreational building committee have received preliminary approval the building of a recreational centre in the Parkdale community. The City has however given members less than 24 hours to put together a more detailed proposal that identifies what services are being considered as well as plans for how the committee expects to cover the costs of construction and implementation of services. The turnaround time in this instance is not typical however the City has received a competing proposal for new condominums and shopping venues. This option is being touted as one that will attract high income individuals to a neighbourhood that is currently populated by lower income families and in need of revitalization. The Board is aware that they must come up with a comprehensive plan and recognize this is going to be a long night.
