An Interdisciplinary Approach to School Bullying

Description

Group 2's Conflict Presentation; After facing a destructive incident of bullying in her classroom involving a special needs student, Ms. Malak and child behavioural clinician Ms. Manmeet, are forced to face their power imbalances, personal assumptions and biases. Both characters work with the opinions of various professionals within the school setting to handle and shape the conflict, from third-party mediation to a negotiated settlement. In considering the diverse interests, needs and safety of students, parents and faculty members, the conflict de-escalates in creative, cooperative and transformative ways toward a mutually agreeable resolution.
