Team 8: Next Generation Healthcare

Description

This scenario focuses on conflicts between interdisciplinary teams in a rural community centre on applying AI-based diagnostic systems for children living in remote areas. The conflict forces the team, including a doctor, nurse, early childhood educator, social worker, and public health policy advisor, with differing viewpoints and priorities to collaborate, converse and work together. The AI system aims to speed up the process and improve the quality of medical diagnosis for children living in remote places. However, concerns about technology dependability, the value of individualized care, and patient privacy security issues cause tension. In addition, throughout the scenario, the members are challenged to recognize their individual biases and how they affect their decision-making when it comes to making the best decision for the entirety of the team and, more importantly, the community they serve. The individuals work towards forming an understanding of where everyone else is coming from to reach a mutual decision on how AI-based technologies will be implemented in their rural community to best support its members. The team will reconcile their diverse viewpoints to forge a balanced approach that integrates technology responsibly, emphasizing inclusive decision-making for positive outcomes.
