Team 1- Hospital Discharge Dilemma

Description

Conflict in a hospital regarding a patient's discharge. A precariously housed individual comes into the hospital for treatment. Family members are notified. Once it’s time for discharge, the family member and the patient want different things. Patient does not feel ready yet for discharge, but the hospital is over capacity and the interdisciplinary team and admin have to figure out what to do, everyone at first is putting themselves and their discipline's goals first and are being hard on their stances. Social Worker/mediator required to ensure the patient’s wellbeing is at the forefront and help defuse the situation.
