TMU & Big Brothers, Big Sisters
Description
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada (BBBS) Toronto Branch put out a call for volunteers for their Pumped Up for Post Secondary (PPS) Program- a support program for at-risk youth who feel college or university is out of their reach.
Since BBBS is a non-profit organization, it relies heavily on volunteers and community funding to run these special programs.
For this specific project, TMU + BBBS put out a call to staff members at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), and has put together 5 volunteers for an interdisciplinary team to spearhead the PPS’s first program at TMU - which is set to start in the Fall of 2026.
While all 5 members are committed to the vision of BBBS and the messaging of the PPS project, they do also have their own priorities, as this project is being supported by TMU’s funds, expertise and other resources. This program is being additionally supported by the City of Toronto through marketing initiatives.
They are tasked with creating a program, managing the finances, marketing and coordinating with BBBS throughout the entire process.
